Packers Coach, Mike McCarthy, Defends 4th Quarter Decision to Give the Game Away

Criticized early in the game for kicking field goals instead of sacking up and going for it on 4th down, McCarthy stands by his decision to give the game away. 'We were trying everything we could to make sure we didn't win this thing offensively... And we reached the executive decision to just give it away.' When asked if he stood by his players in shanking away an onside kick he answered, 'you're damn right, I stand by it! The decision was mine and I would make that same decision 100 times in a row if I had to.'  He then went on to criticize the refs for not allowing his hall of fame caliber quarterback to play from a wheelchair. 'They let the Seahawks roll around out there like a bunch of electro shock therapy patients... Why can't they let my guy throw from his wheelchair?' Individuals close to the source pointed out that McCarthy had to resort to such desperate tactics to give the game away, because it appeared that Seattle wasn't even 'trying to win' and it 'really pissed him off'.
